Kevin O'Malley

I have recently completed my Masters in Product Design Engineering at the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow School of Art with First Class Honours. I am enthusiastic about all design disciplines and have a strong passion for craft and manufacture.

In my spare time, I enjoy travelling the world, attending gigs, keeping fit and working on my own “mini-projects". For my height (6ft 9in) , I’m surprisingly good at table tennis and foosball. I also enjoy the odd round of golf.

Design & Engineering Experience

MCor Technologies are the world leaders in full colour, eco-friendly, low cost, paper 3D
printing.

I worked closely with marketing in the Research and Prototyping department where I manufactured high-quality samples for potential clients. I also created CAD files to test the limits of the printer. I was credited as the best post process finisher in the facility. I often worked alone in the research department operating up to fourteen 3D printers at any one time.

Shane Holland Design Workshops is an award winning Irish design & craft workshop based in Duleek, Ireland.

I split my time between the design studio and workshop, where I was developing bespoke furniture, lighting, sculptures and awards.
