So as determined by my last post, flat pack design has a substantial impact in reducing Co2 emissions in shipping. But what about other ways in which materials & forms are reducing our environmental impact?

Flat pack design was developed for easy bulk and consumer transportation. Although environmental sustainability was not thoroughly considered back in the 1980s, the nature of flat pack design lends itself to low carbon emissions in transport and therefore a much smaller carbon footprint.

The nature of flat pack assembly lends itself to many products outside the world of furniture design. More recently, flat pack design methods have been applied in tackling aid and disaster relief for the people who need it most.

It has been reported that Nokia are rereleasing an updated version of the "world's best selling phone", the Nokia 3310. The phone has apparently sold over 126Million units worldwide, which is more than both the iPhone 4 & 4s sales combined.

Yesterday Nintendo released a teaser for the new Switch console due to be released March 2017.
The video they released is very effective in illustrating the user experience with the console. The concept of a portable console that can be docked and allows multiplayer mode while in transit is revolutionary.
